About Me
Thank you for taking time from your busy schedule to view my online portfolio. This website is a celebration of the work that I have accomplished in pursuit of my masters degree. You will learn more about me in my professional as well as personal life. Education has always been important to me because of the opportunities that it affords individuals. I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Florida in advertising. However, after school I pursued career fields that were not relevant to my degree. On my 30th birthday I decided to pursue a profession that I believed would be beneficial to society. Therefore, I joined the Masters of Arts of Education program at Michigan State University. I feel extremely fortunate to currently be two coursed away from completing the program. I look forward to the educational opportunities that Michigan State University has prepared me for.
I currently live in Atlanta, GA with my lovely wife Kahmahreeah. We just recently got married on April 27, 2013 and are enjoying our time as newlyweds. We live with our seven-year-old dog Ahkeem, who we love very much. I have three sisters one of whom is currently a teacher at The Main Street Academy in Atlanta, GA. I am the proud uncle of my niece Riley and my newly born nephew Azel. In my free time I enjoy going to sporting events, watching movies, traveling, and eating food (good food).
My professional life has taken me on whirlwind journey since graduating from the University of Florida. After I completed school I accepted a position with Pulte Homes as a superintendent. I enjoyed my time with Pulte Homes but when the housing market crashed they unfortunately laid off many of the employees. After Pulte I decided to pursue a career in the financial industry with New York Life. While I enjoyed my time with the company I quickly realized that I wasn’t well suited for the financial industry so I left within in the year to pursue other jobs. I was fortunate to receive an opportunity with Walgreens as a member of management and have worked for them the past 6 years. However, on my 30th birthday I decided that I wasn’t in a profession that was benefitting society or me. Therefore, I decided to pursue a career in education because I wanted to have a positive influence on young people lives. With the help of Michigan State University I strongly believe that my goal of becoming the best educator that I can be will come to fruition.

Teaching Philosophy
As an educator I feel it is my obligation to believe that every child is capable of learning; therefore, it is my responsibility to make sure that I provide them with the best opportunity possible for success. I want to inspire my students to realize that education has the power to transform the quality of their lives. I believe that in order for children to achieve to their academic potential it is important for me to include their parents or guardian in the academic process. In my opinion, it is through collaboration that we will be partners that ensure the academic success of the student. I believe that it is my responsibility to be more than a teacher who teaches a subject. I must also ensure that I am being a positive role model that is invested in making sure that my students become quality citizens.
